Decorate Your Home for the Holidays with Foam

Year’s end is filled with holidays that bring people together and give them reasons to celebrate. From Halloween and Thanksgiving, to Christmas, Hanukah, and New Year’s Eve and Day, it’s hard to not get in the spirit of the season.

One way people embrace the holidays is by decorating their homes, inside and out. We’ve all seen winter wonderlands that feature enough lights to line a landing strip, and spent plenty of time plotting and carving our annual jack-o’-lantern designs. Inside the home, we have plenty of options to keep us in the spirit of the season as well, and one way is with decorative foam.

The simplest way to decorate with foam is to visit a local craft store or foam supplier and browse their selection of custom-cut shapes, patterns, and designs. Die-cutting foam into fun decorations is easily and quickly done, making finding precise designs in fun, bright colors easy. Additionally, these foam cut-outs are soft, light, and easy to store when it’s time to put them away. Creepy foam spiders can be hung from the ceiling on Halloween, or a squishy green Christmas tree can be stuck directly to a wall with hanging pins. These decorations offer a three-dimensional look that can help in breaking up the monotony of traditional décor.

Making your own holiday decorations is also a great family DIY project. By trimming designs from sheets of colored closed-cell foam, you and your family can make layered pictures, shapes, decorate rooms, or even make fun holiday party favors. When it’s time to drag all the decorations out of the basement again, keep in mind that foam is just about the lightest thing in your house as well!
