PlayStation Network Outage Blamed on ‘External Intrusion’ (NewsFactor)

NewsFactor – Sony’s PlayStation Network and its Qriocity music service were still down Monday afternoon, with no word on when they will be back online. On Friday, the company reported that the downtime was caused by “an external intrusion” to both services.

PC World – When Sony’s PlayStation Network was taken offline three days ago, all eyes fell on the Anonymous group, who’ve taken a dislike to Sony over its treatment of hardware hacker George Hotz. The network allows online play between PlayStation 3 consoles and boasts 70 million users, so this is no small inconvenience.
