PC World – Popular social games like Farmville, Mafia Wars and Fishville may soon be available to Google users, if recent rumors turn out to be accurate. Google has reportedly invested between $100 and $200 million in the social gaming company Zynga, and the search giant plans to make Zynga a major part of a Google-branded gaming platform called Google Games. Â Piling rumors on top of rumors, Google Games is believed to be a part of Google Me, a rumored Google-based social network that would compete directly with Facebook.

Technologist: Full Immersion in the Cyberworld Is Coming (PC World)

NewsFactor – In another swat at Apple, Google is reportedly readying a music download service that could compete with iTunes (and Rhapsody and other digital music services). The Wall Street Journal is citing unnamed sources that reveal a Google-branded music play.

PC World – A second report of a Google-branded mobile phone has emerged online, possibly vindicating TechCrunch’s Michael Arrington, who made a similar claim in mid-November, not to mention earlier whispers from other sources. The latest rumor is courtesy of Gizmodo’s Mark Wilson, who reported Monday that a new “Google Phone” will run a new and improved version of the Android operating system:

French Court Fines EBay $2.5 Million (PC World)
